Aston Villa sign Chicago Fire striker
Colombian teenager Jhon Duran has been acquired by Aston Villa from the Chicago Fire for £18m. Duran, who is 19 years old, has recorded 8 goals and assisted 6 more in 28 games for the Chicago Fire. Villa will pay £14.75m for the young striker, who already has 3 caps for Colombia and an additional £3.3m could be paid in bonuses. He will be Unai Emery's second signing for the club, following the acquisition of full-back Alex Moreno from Real Betis for £13.2m earlier this month. Duran will be competing for a starting position with Ollie Watkins, who has scored 5 goals this season, after the departure of Danny Ings to West Ham. Villa is currently ranked 11th in the Premier League and have recently won 3 out of their last 4 league matches.
